Review: Maybelline Babylips in Pink Punch

Hello Loveys!

Todays review is on the Maybelline Babylips in Pink Punch. I had heard so much about these and was never quite sure on what the hype was all about. I was in my local Superdrug when I saw them, I had a think and thought why not lets jump on the bandwagon.

Maybelline states these offer 8hour moisture and protection, a revolutionary balm with SPF 20.

The packaging isn't amazing, its bright and eye catching, but not sure what I think of the baby lips writing on the lip balm itself. It does have a handy retractable tube, and the balm goes right in the tube unlike others, so no broken lip balm!

They have various shades and scents available, and I chose Pink Punch, a pink punch fruity scent which is quite sweet but not sickly.

I applied this on my way to work and loved the feeling, it was moisturising and made my lips soft after applying. Maybelline states it offers 8 hour protection, not sure I agree as I felt I needed to reapply after a couple of hours.

Pink Punch is a cold toned pink with a shimmer, but if you want fantastic pigmentation and bold colours then don't pick these as they aren't created to give that affect, they only give a "hint of colour". The colour didn't stay on long and I found the balm gathered on my lip, it didn't sink in particularly well to ensure my lips were intensely moisture.

Maybelline, Pink, Punch, Lip, Balm, Babylips, Review, Superdrug, WhispersfromangelsI would like to purchase another shade, as I do think are handy and for £2.99 you cant go terribly wrong. I don't think it looks up to the hype but sometimes when products are hyped so much they then aren't seen as great as the expectation is on such a high level!

Have you tried these?

Which is your favourite?

  1. I haven't got round to trying these yet. I really wanted to when they were first released in the UK but, as time has gone by, reviews seem to be getting more and more negative haha.

  3. I agree, the hype was a bit crazy and made them seen fantastic. It's a shame as I don't think it is a bad product at all, I think it's alright to be honest it's just people expected amazing results.
